Veteran’s Day - This year for Veteran’s Day we can send a letter of gratitude to a Veteran. You may send a letter to a Veteran you know, or you may go to “Operation Gratitude”. Fill out their form, they will send you a UPC code and you can write your letter, put a stamp on it, and mail it. This is a service project, so please let us know after you have mailed your letter on the Google Form below.

Here is the link to get your UPC Code:https://www.operationgratitude.com/express-your-thanks-virtual/write-letters-virtual/

Service Project - Holiday Card for Seniors We will make a large card for the seniors at Merrill Gardens, Assisted Living Facility, in Kirkland. We need our Scouts to write a message and draw a picture that Stephanie H. can put onto a large card. We recommend drawing and writing on paper 4”X6” up to 8 ½”X11” You can mail it anytime to Stephanie H. or drop off at her house. Her address has been emailed to you in the newsletter. You are welcome to drop it off at her house between 11/16 and 11/20. To ensure your artwork is included, she must have it by: November 20th.

November Geocache - We are setting up a Geocache and will have it out to you soon. This will be a one mile walk which you may be able to use for one of your hikes for a den requirement! You will receive the specifics in your email.

Kits - January activity (knots), Pinewood Derby Kit and Blue and Gold Kit - We are planning to have kits ready the first week of December to pick up. We will email you when they are ready.

Neckerchiefs and Slides - We will be giving out neckerchiefs and slides to those who turn them in. If you have already turned one in, you should receive one for your current rank, in your December kit. If you have not yet turned one in, to ensure there will be a neckerchief and slide for you in your December kit, please make sure your old one is turned in by November 20th. You can place it in a bag with your Scout’s name on it, and leave it on Margo’s front porch (address in your email).

Blue and Gold Party - We will do our Blue and Gold Party this year in virtual format on Tuesday, 2/9 at 6:30 p.m. Scouts will show their friends their cakes and eat cake together virtually to celebrate Cub Scouts’ Birthday!

Pinewood Derby Workshops - Our work shops will be a bit different this year since we can’t gather together to work on our cars at the church. Thank you Kara P. and Mark R.! They have offered to cut out one car for each of our Scouts who would like help. We will have sign ups for the month of January. Scouts will drop off their cars at Margo’s house with a design or template, and she will deliver them to the workshops. You will be able to pick them up from her porch, the following week. We will not be providing weights, graphite and other materials this year. However, Scouts have used pennies and other creative means for adding weight to their car. Siblings and parents are welcome to participate, but you will need to cut out and design your cars on your own. If you don’t have power tools, hand tools work great to create great Pinewood Derby Cars.
