Advancement - This is the time of year we like to have all of our requirements all wrapped up for each rank. This year has been a bit different, since we haven’t been able to meet as dens, or as a pack since the end of February. We would like to encourage you to complete the requirements with your Scout if you can.
Day Camp and Twilight Camp - New dates 8/24/20 to 8/27/20 - There is a new fabulous plan for Lake Sammamish Cub Scout Day Camp and Twilight Camp this year. We have 2 day options as well as our normal 4 day camps. Things can (and will) change, and the organizers are staying abreast of all the developments. Assuming we are well into the State’s Stage 4, the options are as follows:
Twilight Four Day – M-Th, August 24-27
Twilight 1 – M/T August 24-25,- activities 1-10
Twilight 2 – W/Th August 26-27 activities 11-20
Daytime four day – T-F, August 25-28,
Daytime 1 – T/W – August 25-26, activities 1-10
Daytime 2 – Th/F – August 27-28, activities 11-20
Cost: Four day camps $100. Two day camps $60. If the camp has to be cancelled due to further health concerns, the Scout Council will issue a full refund.
Final times are still being worked on, but approximately
2:45 to 8:00 for Twilight
8:45am to 2:00 pm for Daytime.
Safety measures being taken for these camps are as follows:
Some of the changes we are making to protect Cub Scouts and their parents are (A) All sessions will be capped at 100, so traveling groups will be 12 or less. This will allow for much more distancing between the Cubs during all of their activities. (B) Stations are being modified to allow for extra spacing. For example, three picnic tables for a craft project with only 12 Cubs, they have lots of room to spread out. (C) Sanitizing tools in between rotations, hand sanitizer at each station, etc. (D) Additional hand washing stations throughout the camp. (E) If still suggested by the CDC, taking temperatures at arrival (F) Possible additional health form to be filled out the day before camp begins, evaluating current health.
These are just a few of the protocols we are implementing to have a safe environment while still offering the same quality Cub Scout Day Camp that we always do.
