Pack Meeting 12/3/19 6:30 to 7:30- We have a fun pack meeting planned for December with our annual indoor snowball fight, a Santa Balloon game, skits, and a community service project where we will be putting together s’more packages for Redmond Lights. Please email Margo, if you are able to help with the Gathering Activity for the meeting. It is easy, we just need a parent to oversee a table from 6:10 to 6:30 and them pack up the supplies.
Redmond Lights Saturday 12/7/19 4:00 to 8:00
This progressive, three-part event starts at Redmond City Hall and takes you on a luminary walk along the Sammamish River Trail to Downtown Park and the Redmond Town Center. At City Hall campus, you’ll enjoy music performances and the tree lighting ceremony! View light and art installations and thousands of luminaries as you stroll down the Redmond Central Connector. More art and music awaits you at Downtown Park. On Saturday evening, a Winter Wonderland awaits you at Redmond Town Center, with a carousel, live ice carver, and even more performances. Sunday night gives you an encore opportunity to experience the luminary walk to Downtown Park once more.https://www.redmond.gov/1139/Redmond-Lights
Thanks to all who have ordered chocolates or contributed to the buyback. We have almost 100% participation and have committed to sell a lot of chocolate. Payment is due by the January 9th pack meeting. We will be accepting cash and check payments at the December 3rd Pack meeting as well. Checks are the preferred method. Thank you to Shaiza D. for organizing the fundraiser and to Noa R. for sorting and distributing all of the chocolate this year. If you have not yet picked up your chocolate, please email Noa.
Succession Planning in the Pack Looking ahead, we are planning for our pack’s future leadership. This March and the following March, we will be losing some of our Committee as 5th graders move up to BSA Scouts or graduate out of the program. The following people will be leaving to follow their Scouts on the dates listed below.
Dennis G. - Cub Master - Moving up March 2020
Mike G. - Cub Master - March 2021
Margo W. - Committee Chair - March 2021
Julie B.- Secretary - March 2021
Dana L. - New Member Coordinator - March 2021
We have a very strong pack. It always has been, and it will continue to be. We are in need of parents with younger kids to come forward to take on these roles. We will continue in our roles while we are with the pack, but we would like to share our knowledge in the coming months to make the transitions easy. Justin Z. has stepped up to be an Assistant Cub Master and will be Cub Master when Mike G. moves up. We will need one or two Assistant Cub Masters to back fill his spot and the other spots will need to be filled as well. The positions are all fun and rewarding. Please email any of us with questions about the roles.
Parent Volunteers Needed:We have some volunteer spots we need to fill right away. We need helpers to assist in planning Blue and Gold and we also need someone to lead the MLK Service Project on 1/20/20. The service project could be one found online for MLK Day, and it could be picking up litter, helping to make a meal, or something else. If you enjoy planning fun projects, we are looking for someone to plan “gathering activities”. These are the fun projects we have before the meetings for the Scouts to do while they wait for the meeting to start. Please e-mail Margo to let her know what you are willing to help with. Thank you for your help!
Thank you to Belinda B. for setting up an incredibly fun game night! We had over 40 attendees and families had a great time! Thank you to Noa R. for taking care of the chocolate, separating all the orders and providing it so quickly to families! Thank you Shaiza D. for all your work taking everyone’s chocolate orders and tracking all of it!
Committee/Leader’s Meeting- The Committee and Den Leaders meet the 2nd Sunday of the month at 7:00 p.m. at the church in Room 14. We welcome any parents to attend this meeting. If there is something you want to discuss at the meeting, please email Margo so the item can be put on the agenda.
Veteran’s Day Ceremonies at School and Veteran’s Day Ceremony
We had several Scouts participate in the Veteran’s Day assemblies at Lakeview Elementary School and Peter Kirk Elementary School. Additionally, several Scouts came out with their parents on Veteran’s Day to put flags next to graves at Sunset Hills Memorial Park.
