Fall Family Camp - Virtual Camp Out -9/4/2020 to 9/6/2020 - Stay in your tent outside, or set up a fun campsite anywhere that is not your bed. We are having another campout! This will be a casual time to have fun with your family. We hope you will post photos on the private Facebook page. We have some fun activities to suggest for our fun camping weekend! This will be our last “Summertime activity” which qualifies for the “Summertime Award.” Scouts who do three summer activities (Picnic, Water Party, Fall Family Camp, Hike at one of the parks, Summer Camp in a Box) will earn the award.
We will send out a fun story for parents to read to their kids that isn’t too scary.

Pack 550 this Fall- What’s up for Fall? We know parents are anxiously waiting to see what virtual learning / school will be like this Fall. Our event for September will be our Virtual Fall Family Camp. We will be sending out a survey in the middle of September to see how you are doing, and to find out what you would like our pack to do during the year. We are tentatively planning to have on-line Bingo in October and we are thinking of having a fun craft or science kit in November. We understand parents are concerned about the amount of time their kids will be spending on-line. We want to create a fun Scouting year that brings joy to your family, and doesn’t add stress.
Hikes/Walks in the Parks - How are you doing with your hikes and walks? We are hoping you are enjoying exploring the parks we sent to you. You can continue to enjoy this into the Fall months. In fact, trails tend to be less busy when it is overcast.
Neckerchiefs and Slides-If your Scout is going into second grade, third grade or fourth grade, please drop off your Scout’s neckerchief and slide at Margo’s at 1208 2nd Street on the front porch when you get a chance. Please put it in a bag and label who it is from. You can take a recycle patch when you turn it in. We wash them and recycle them each year. Thank you for helping the pack!
Registration/Dues- We are preparing to register Scouts for this coming year. We are asking you to pay the fees to register by September 30th so we will know how many Scouts to plan for.
Interested in STEM? - Sign up for NOVA Award Class Your Scout can take a free science class for an evening to earn a NOVA award. If they are going into 2nd grade through 5th grade, they can take these fun classes. They are usually offered on a Thursday evening at 6:00 or 6:30 p.m.
Cub Day at Camp - Many kids from our pack have attended Camp Halloween each October. It is a one day camp for a Scout and their parent to attend. During this action-packed day, groups will investigate the camp areas, take part in games and craft projects, explore the nature trail, and visit the archery and BB gun range. Cub Day at Camp is open to all Cub Scouts (including Lions & Tigers), their friends and family! Dates: 10/17, 10/18, 10/24 or 10/25
Times: 9:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Cost: $32 for youth, $8 for adults (includes lunch)
