Earth Day Trash Pick up - It is Earth Week! It is a tradition to have a service project during Earth Week. Even though we can't meet in person, we can still hold our service project! Let's pick up trash in our neighborhoods and neighborhood parks. You can put on disposable gloves, grab a bag and go for a walk with your adults. If you have “grabbing sticks” they are fun to use to pick up trash. It would be a good idea to wear a mask so you don't touch your face. When you are finished, you can dump your trash bag in a public trash can, or your own garbage can at home. If you participate, please email Margo so we can ensure you get a segment patch the next time we see you! It would be fun to see a photo of your service project too! It would be great if you wear your Cub Scout t-shirt or your Cub Scout uniform. I can't wait to see your photos!

Get ready for Pack 550’s first Virtual Camp Out! That’s right! All families are invited to camp on the Saturday of Memorial Weekend 5/23. Grab your sleeping bag and put up a tent, sleep under the stars, or anywhere, other than your own bed! We’ll share fun camping recipes, have a campfire program, share skits and listen to fun stories! We’ll have a great time all connected via the internet for this fun evening!

Corona Virus Challenge - We have extended the Corona Virus challenge deadline to the last day of school. Has anyone else finished it? Email Margo .

Cancelling Family Camp - 5/22 and 5/23 (Memorial Weekend) Due to COVID-19, we have had to cancel our Family Camp for safety reasons. We hope that families will join the “Virtual Camping” activity on Saturday the 23rd. We are planning a Family Camp in September on Labor Day weekend. We will send out a sign up as the date gets closer.

Pack Meetings- Due to Coronavirus, we are cancelling our Pack meetings through the end of the school year, including Cross Over. We will postpone our Pack picnic to August with a date to be announced soon.

Summer Camps - Update - As of today, Chief Seattle Council (our council) in Seattle has NOT cancelled any summer camps, resident camps, or day camps. They are taking a “wait and see” approach. From the website: “While we will defer to the recommendations of health and government officials, we're optimistic that our summer camp program will continue as planned. Camps Pigott, Parsons, and Edward, as well as all Cub Scout Day Camps, are gearing up to provide an exciting Scout program for youth and their families. Many of the program expenses and investments are made prior to the camp season, so signing up now helps us ensure that camps are ready. “ Please sign up for camps. If they are cancelled, by Chief Seattle Council, they will work with units to move reservations to 2021 or refund the payment to the unit.

This is a fun 4-day experience for Cub Scouts along with their parents. While immersed in adventures of the wild, Cubs take part in activities such as archery, BB guns, nature hikes, crafts, swimming, and boating. Webelos can earn activity pins, and Wolf and Bear Cubs can also complete advancement requirements. Tigers are also welcome! This camp is for both boys and girls who are members of Cub Scouts. Kids must be members to attend. The camp features include a beautifully renovated dining hall, waterfront, BB gun and archery ranges, play fields, nature trails and a fantastic craft lodge. Campsites have two-person canvas tents (during the summer) and cabins with bunks. Showers and restroom facilities are centrally located. Depending on our group size, some Cubs and their parent(s) will want to bring a tent. We will eat our meals in the dining hall, and enjoy s’mores and other fun snacks together at our group site. Everyone loves the Chief Joe Race and on the last day, and the Polar Bear Swim. Your kids will leave singing goofy, fun camp songs that will go on all summer! This is a camp that can’t be missed! One of the sessions is already full so register soon to ensure a spot for you and your Cub!
